Officer Involved Shooting

At 7:45am on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, the Gardena Police Department received a call about a woman heard yelling and shots fired at 146^th St. and Western Ave.

Units immediately responded and confronted an armed suspect. An officer involved shooting occurred and the suspect was fatally wounded at the scene. Officers discovered a female victim who had been shot by the suspect. She was transported to Harbor General Hospital where she remains in critical condition.

The shooting investigation is being conducted by the LA County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau.
