Dead Body Found on Gardena Street

On Tuesday, February 02, 2010, at approximately 12:43 AM, Gardena police officers responded to a call of an unresponsive male, not breathing, on the parkway in the 15400-block Berendo Avenue, in the City of Gardena.

Paramedics and police officers arrived on the scene and discovered a deceased male Hispanic in his 20’s lying on the parkway in the 15400-block of Berendo Avenue.  The initial investigation revealed the victim’s body was dumped on the parkway adjacent to the sidewalk.  He sustained an apparent gunshot wound to the upper torso area.  Witnesses reported seeing a small black vehicle leaving the area at the time the victim was dumped.

The victim has been identified as Jesus Cazares, 27-years-old from Compton.
